Be positive and open hearted with easy meditation techniques

Do you want to teach your children that positive thinking brings about positive results? Are you feeling a need to open yourself to possibilities and all the goodness life has to offer?

You may want to try this Loving Kindness Meditation. It’s easy, even a preschooler can do it. Four simple phrases repeated in your mind again and again, while sitting comfortably with eyes closed. Continue to repeat it for five minutes, focusing on the feeling & power of the words. Longer – up to 30 minutes – if you are accustomed to meditation and can sit that long. So here are the four magic phrases that will fill your life with positive energy.

May I be filled with loving kindness

May I be well

May I be peaceful and at ease

May I be happy

That’s it. Simple, eh? I must admit to peeking at the words now and again when I first started – short term memory challenged that I am. But once I got going, it felt wonderful. I was relaxed and filled with a positive outlook for the rest of the day.

So try it yourself, or with your little yoginis today, and see if your home/school is not a better place thanks to loving kindness. If you enjoyed this post, be sure to subscribe to my RSS Feed.

    Hey Donna,

Great to see the word getting out about this simple meditation. I’m on Day 20 of my sadhana, and it is becoming the highlight of my day.

Awesome idea too, to get kids involved. They’d love it!

    Namaste,
    Kara-Leah
