You've inspired me! I am not much of a gardener, and like many things in my life, I was always very intimidated by gardening in general. I don't know why, but because no one had ever done these things with me as a child, I never had any interest or knowledge about it, and I just always thought "Oh, I don't know anything about gardening" and left it at that.

In the past year, though, somehow, I've gotten over my fear of the unknown and just decided to plant a few shrubs and perennials in my yard. I cannot tell you the peace that I get from working outside, planting, nurturing, and enjoying these living creatures. I still don't know what I'm doing, but I'm learning, and I'm enjoying it. At one point I found myself talking to my new plants as they were going in the ground, and I knew something in my mind was changing! (as crazy as that sounds).

My daughter loves helping, and now my son is starting to be able to participate too. These lessons and ideas are fabulous for someone like me, who wants to teach something I know little about myself.

Thank you!

I can just see your garden! I like the garden analogy for kids yoga, everything we do starts off as a seed in our minds. Every thought is a seed, some need nurturing and some are weeds that need pulling. I always think of winter as the time we can consciously choose the seeds we're gonna plant.

P.S. I'd love that chocolate chip zucchini bread recipe sometime - sounds good.
