UPDATE: This giveaway is now closed. Congratulations to Rachel Baet who won a set of Harmony Cards for Kids.
We all want our children to be happy, healthy, caring adults, to be filled with confidence, compassion and a good sense of what is of true value in this world. Harmony Cards for Kids makes it easy for parents and teachers to help kids learn essential values to invite more happiness and peace into their lives.
The set includes 30 cards and a guidebook which shows parents/teachers effective ways of using the cards.
The 30 sturdy, double sided cards are cheerful and bright. Each one features a different value along with a colorful graphic on the front. The back includes a clarifying statement to increase understanding of the value, three affirmations to encourage application and a question to ponder or to use as a conversation starter. For example:
I choose to create a great day. I use positive words and thoughts. I am resilient and bounce back. I focus on solutions, not obstacles. How do I choose optimism?
What I like about Harmony Cards for Kids
- univseral application- all 30 cards focus on acting and living well without being preachy
- playful illustrations – my kids enjoy looking through the cards and commenting on the artwork
- child friendly affirmations
- individually adaptable to fit my life and how I parent/teach
- easy way to increase understanding of terms which are sometimes left undefined but assumed to be understood
- multiple creative use suggestions – my fave is “Choose a virtue for the week and practise random acts. For example: random acts of kindness, creativity, encouragement, generosity…”
The full list of virtues in the set are: Acceptance * Cleanliness * Compassion * Confidence * Cooperation * Creativity * Encouragement * Enthusiasm * Excellence * Fairness * Flexibility * Forgiveness * Freedom * Friendliness * Generosity * Gentleness * Gratitude * Happiness * Independence * Kindness * Love * Optimism * Patience * Peacefulness * Persistence * Purpose * Respect * Tact * Togetherness * TrustYou can find purchase a set from Kids in Harmony in Australia for $35.00. Favorite affirmation “I have a bright light within to share with the world” I “liked” Harmony Cards for Kids and shared the review on Facebook and Pinterest, Thank you Donna!
Namaste
My favorite affirmation above is “I focus on solutions, not obstacles.” As a Montessori teacher I facilitate conversations with children on a daily basis when conflicts come up. We often use the language “When……..I feel……..and I would like………” It is wonderful to see the 5 and 6 year olds who are familiar with this process helping the 3 and 4 year olds through the steps. We also have meetings in which we brainstorm to come to a positive solution that will help everyone. These cards would bring another dimension to our conversations; my mind is already gearing up towards extensions using the cards as a base.

I am healthy and balanced.
Fave affirmation is : smile because it makes you feel & act more confident. It makes you look good & people will wonder why you are smiling & will often smile back – true:)
“I choose to create a great day” I practice teaching my children that how they react to something is a choice. This helps them to take ownership and opens their mind to alternatives. Love these cards!

My favorite affirmation…Today I will be proud of who I am.
Favorite affirmations: “I am strong” & “I make good choices”. These cards would be great to use in OMazing Kids adapted & inclusive yoga classes at the JD McCarty Center for Children with Developmental Disabilities. I also use affirmations in my work as a Speech-Language Pathologist there. Thanks for sharing these cards!

These cards are such a great idea/tool to teach our kids the value of positive thinking! The kids (in my yoga classes and at school)love to say affirmations such as ” I love myself, I love my family,…. I love everybody, I love the Earth…” at the end of our classes! I shared this on Facebook and Liked the page! Thanks!!!
I “liked” Harmony Cards on Facebook and shared your link and review on FB too. My favorite affirmation (though I love using all sorts with kids in yoga classes): “I treat others how I like to be treated”. Thank you
